Cachaça is the third most consumed spirit in the world and the first spirit of the Americas (created initially in 1532 in Brazil). Unlike most rums which are made from molasses, Cachaça is made from fresh sugarcane juice and can only come from Brazil. Cachaça is pronounced ka-SHA-sa. Cachaça is not rum. It tastes different than rum, with a fresher, fruitier flavor.
