The big, spicy, exuberant 2017 Vieux Château Palon dishes up serious amounts of black raspberries, vanilla bean, spice, and orange blossom notes in its exotic, medium to full-bodied personality. It has considerable charm, notable complexity, and ripe tannin, and I suspect will certainly be an outstanding wine.

The 2017 Vieux Château Palon is powerful, deep and super-expressive. A blast of inky dark fruit, chocolate, licorice, leather and spice gives this bold wine much of its flamboyant, up-front personality. There is plenty to like here. The 2017 is a juicy, pleasantly rustic wine to enjoy over the next handful of years.

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2017 Vieux Chateau Palon has a lifted nose of black cherry preserves and warm plums with hints of spice cake, menthol and rose hips. Medium to full-bodied, it has a very refreshing line lifting the vibrant fruit and it finishes soft and rounded.
